While operating with 5SQN in PNG, A2-310 participated in the search for Iroquois A2-383 (9SQN) which crashed at Mt Bosavi (8,000 feet AMSL). A2-279 (9SQN) was first to reach the crash site but bad weather precluded a rescue. The crew of A2-383 spent the night on the mountain top while A2-279 and A2-310 overnighted at Bosavi Mission.
