Bell UH-1H Iroquois A2-310 as it appeared while serving on Operation "Bel Isi" as part of the Peace Monitoring Group in Bougainville from April 1998 to July 2001. For this deployment, the aircraft was painted overall International Orange to distinguish the Australian Iroquois from those operated by the PNGDF. The above diagram appears in the aircraft log books. It has been reformatted for ease of presentation but the contents are as per the original document with the only change being the addition of the text describing the paint specification. This specification is drawn from a previous page of the document. The document states that the following markings are not to be applied "until further notice"; kangaroo roundel, ARMY and the tail number on the cabin doors. The only markings shown on the diagram are the tail rotor warning and the serial on the tail. Curiously, the tail number is presented as A02-310. Photographs indicate that 310 carried "310" in black on the nose immediately below the black anti-glare panel. A2-310 was one of six Australian Iroquois to carry this colour scheme, the others being A2-295, 279, 490, 507 and 649. (Source: Deviation-Iroquois No. 70)
