SEABIRD SB5E SENTINEL VH-SBU
MSN 90003
(AA000106)

QAM thanks Seabird Aviation Australia for the donation of this aircraft.

It should be noted that the Seabird Sentinel was originally offered with a choice of engine. The SB5N was powered by a Norton engine while the SB5E was powered by an Emdair engine. Unfortunately, Seabird Aviation were let-down by both engine types and it became necessary to modify the design to accommodate a Lycoming engine with the type eventually entering production as the SB7L Seeker. The donation of the two locally produced prototypes, 001 and 003, represents a very significant acquisition for QAM. (002 was a static test airframe)
