This photograph was taken at Amberley on 19 September 1965, probably
the first time that Mirages had visited Amberley. It is unusual to see
Mirages without underwing tanks so it is probable that the aircraft
had been prepared for local flying at the regular September air show.
Contemporary notes by the photographer indicate that the aircraft are
A3-15, A3-16 and A3-18. Only the aircraft on the right can be positively
identified and this is A3-16 which is carrying the Road Runner
nose art and the Wing Commander's pennant. Although of poor quality,
this is one of the earliest colour slides taken by the fifteen year-old
photographer using the dreadful, but cheap, Prinzcolor film. QUEENSLAND
