One year later it was converted to perform the additional function as a full flight simulator and as such became the first CASA approved Bell 412 full flight simulator in Australia. Subsequently, when CASA wanted to certify it as a procedural trainer, the flight simulator facility was removed and fitted to a custom built fixture. later rescue helicopters have a wheeled undercarriage as opposed to skids,
