Although
it had been on site since February, the fin was finally removed from its
box at Caloundra on 21 May 2013. The gold flash signifies No 1 Squadron
RAAF whereas the other side of the fin carries the blue flash of No 6
Squadron RAAF. This "split personality" honours both squadrons
which operated the F-111 in RAAF service.  Image:
