| Although of
poor quality, photographs of the DC-3 as VH-CXL are very rare. The photo
was taken between August 1943 and late March 1944 while the DC-3 was serving
with 36 Squadron RAAF based at Townsville, Queensland. As the aeroplane
is only on loan to the RAAF, it carries the USAAF star and bars. Note also
