C-47 KG765 later joined the Royal Pakistan Air Force as a VIP transport with the serial number C-406. In this photograph taken circa 1949, the aircraft which is almost certainly C-406, was being used by the Commander in Chief of the RPAF. Note the additional vertical window in the aft freight door which was part of the RAF VIP conversion. The personnel are from left to right:

Air Commodore Douglas Lloyd Amlot (1910 - 1979). Assumed the position of Chief of Staff, Royal Pakistan Air Force, during the absence of Commander in Chief AVM Atcherley in Australia in 1949.
Air Vice-Marshal Richard Llewellyn Roger Atcherley (later Sir Richard) KBE, CB, AFC & Bar (12 January 1904 – 18 April 1970). Won the King’s Cup Air Race in 1929 and in the same year broke the world air speed record in the Schneider Cup race at a speed of 332.63 miles per hour. Served as Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Pakistan Air Force from 1949 to 1951. Visited Australia and New Zealand in November 1949.

Air Marshal Muhammad Asghar Khan (17 January 1921 – 5 January 2018). Was later the first local Commander in Chief of the PAF and was revered as the Father of the PAF.
