C-47 KG765 later joined the Royal Pakistan Air Force as a VIP transport
with the serial number C-406. In this photograph taken circa 1949, the
aircraft which is almost certainly C-406, was being used by the Commander
in Chief of the RPAF. Note the additional vertical window in the aft
freight door which was part of the RAF VIP conversion. The personnel
are from left to right:

Cup Air Race in 1929 and in the same year broke the world air speed
record in the Schneider Cup race at a speed of 332.63 miles per
hour. Served as Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Pakistan Air Force
from 1949 to 1951. Visited Australia and New Zealand in November
1949. |
