A
convoy of QAM members' cars prepares to depart from the property of
John Hill's parents at Springbrook on 15 August 1976. The tail booms
from Vampire A79-828 and Boomerang rear fuselage are loaded on a trailer
behind Craig Justo's blue Valiant Pacer at right. In the centre of the
image, Ray Denning and Craig Justo are restraining the forward fuselage
of Matt Denning's Boomerang A46-122. At left, Brian Daly contemplates
his load which consisted of an Anson nose. This work party also marked
the commencement of Matthew Denning's epic personal project to return
a Boomerang to the sky. This he achieved in February 2003 when VH-MHR/A46-122
took to the air for the first time in more than fifty years.
