This
is believed to be "Willie the Squid" which represents
UTRON ONE (later VC-1) at Barbers Point, Hawaii. A89-277 was delayed
at Barbers Point for nine days in April 1962 after experiencing
engine trouble on its delivery flight to Australia. However, the
apparent freshness of the paint suggests that this marking might
have been applied in June 1964 when the aircraft visited Barbers
Point on exercises.

Gold
Kiwi - New Zealand obviously but unit unknown. The first known
visit to NZ by A89-277 was in September 1973 so this marking was
evidently applied by a New Zealand unit abroad.
