Southern Airlines crew with Dove VH-GVE, probably at Essendon circa 1955. This photograph appeared in the TAA house journal, Transair in 1955. Only one pilot and one flight hostess were required to operate the aeroplane. In addition to looking after the passengers, Southern Airlines Flight Hostesses were trained and licensed to act as Radio Operators in which capacity they occupied the right hand seat in the cockpit. Transair identifies the crew as (left to right):
