HRH The Duke of Edinburgh walks away from Beagle 206 VH-UNL to attend his official welcome to Norfolk Island in May 1968. Prince Philip had arrived on an HS-748 from Auckland en route to a polo game in western NSW. Having flown the Beagle 206 in the UK, Prince Philip expressed great interest in VH-UNL and spent ten minutes on the aeroplane talking with the crew. VH-UNL, which can be seen in the right background, was returning from a sales tour of New Zealand.Photo: Allan Vial QUEENSLAND AIR MUSEUM www.qam.com.au |
